The whole situation surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic is overwhelming and we all can’t wait for this to be over. Thousands of people have lost their jobs and businesses because of the novel corona virus.
But amidst all the confusion and as we continue hoping for better days, we can at least try and learn a few things from this pandemic. After it’s over, we shall be wiser because we shall have carried with us important life lessons from the pandemic.
Here are just a few lessons that COVID-19 is trying to teach us:
That the little things matter
Yes, it is indeed the little things that we take for granted that matter most in life. Take for instance the freedom to move or even walking freely in the park enjoying the fresh air. Right now, you have the time, you might have the money but it can’t buy you those small pleasures. When this is over, may we all never again take for granted those little pleasures.
It’s time to get out of your comfort zone
What have you always wanted to do but have always been postponing? See, the future is not promised and this is hitting differently during the coronavirus pandemic. Maybe the pandemic is trying to push you to the next level in life. If you have always wanted to travel, start a business, go back to school, make sure you pursue your dreams after the pandemic.
Side income is not overrated
So we have been told for years to always have a plan B in case something happens. Look at what is happening now. You lose your job or business and life seem to have come to an end for you because that’s all you had. What if you had a side income? Maybe it would at least sustain you as you look for alternatives.
We all need to get serious and save money
Nobody knows what tomorrow will be like. The sun might shine, or it might not. You might have your job, or you might not. Are you prepared for that? Do you have savings to sustain you before you get another source of income?
Also make sure that as you save, you save to invest.
